Hygroscopic resins are very often used in injection moldnig, blowing and extrusion. If nor properly treated during process such materials trapping water moisture withinthe granules can negatively affect the final result and quality of the product with the risk of consistent defected parts. In order to avoid defects during plastic processing Plastic Systems has developed a wide rang of precise, reliable and efficient dehumidifying dryers with process airflow ranging from 40 to 5000 m3/h. The range of Plastic Systems dessicant dryers, DR series, includes rotor-bed, single and double tower for desiccant molecular sieves containing, single, double and multi blower units, and microprocessor or Siemens PLC controls. The high-tech technics and theories applied to the dehumidifier design have brought to optimised solutions obtaining desiccant drying units with high performances in terms of high efficient use of molecular sieves, low air pressure drops in the air piping proper heat exchanging systems, counter-current flows bteween process and regeneration airflows together with a low energy consumption. The very high performances permit a very efficient dehumidification of all the hygroscopic olastic materials with a consistent high quality production.

1.  DR100-105 Desiccant dryers
Range of desiccant dryers with process airflow ranging from 80 to 500 m3/h with minimum dew point of -40°C. Twin-desiccant-tower units with one blower. Regeneration phase performed by dry air from process and in counter-current allows high dew-point levels. Insulated drying hoppers can be installed directly on the machine throat (up to 200-300 litres), or on floor-standing frame.
Optionally: compact trolley-mounted solutions with one or more hoppers. Independent heating boosters can be fitted on drying hoppers for simultaneous different process temperatures.

DR102P-103P DESICCANT DRYER
The DR102P-103P desiccant dryers are twin-tower models with double-blower (one for process one for regeneration), to assure 200 and 300 m3/h airflow with very high performances.

2.  DR40 Desiccant dryer

ROTOR-BED
The DR40 desiccant dryer is a desiccant rotor-bed unit with process airflow of 40 m3/h with minimum dew point of -30°C. The model design allows continuous process operation.
Single-phase blower unit and compact sizes suitable for installation beside small processing machines. Insulated drying hopper installed directly on machine throat. Water/air heat exchanger for return air cooling on MT version. Optionals: trolley-mounted solutions, dew-point control.

3.  DR60-80 Desiccant dryers
Single-phase desiccant dryers with process airflow of 60 and 80 m3/h and dew point of -30°C. Models with single-desiccant-tower design, one blower solution and single-phase supply, resulting in compact dimensions suitable for installation on small processing machines with drying hopper installed directly on machine throat. Optionally on trolley.

4.  Drying hoppers
Drying hoppers available from 15 to 15000 liters in stainless steel AISI304. Glass-wool insulation of 60 mm thickness up to 200 liters hopper and 100 mm thick from 300 liters upwards, covered with aluminium panels of 8/10 mm thickness.
